the holidays have passed and we usher in 2009

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog, but I took a little holiday hiatus. It’s a good thing I did to because it has been one crazy holiday season. I can’t believe it’s already 2009! Well, let’s start with Christmas. Work was crazy busy because we had to get proposals done ahead of time. You know much fun that is when all you want to do is go on vacation? Not very fun. Anyway, I got really sick the week before vacation and ended up having to miss some work, but I was determined to get better by sleeping at all times and drinking Jamba Juice (R). They are soooo good.

I was in Ohio for a while, and the weather wasn’t very wintry except for a few days that the windchill was nearly 30 below zero. That is reallly cold. It was really good to get home again; I hadn’t been there since May. Nor had I seen anyone in my family. It definitely felt different, but I was glad to be home for a while. The down side was that we had one less car this year, and it was kind of crazy. We made it work, and we had fun at all times. In fact, I was so busy running around to do things that it literally was a Christmas by appointment. Unfortunately, either because of a new infection or lack of sleep or whatever, I became ill again toward the end of my vacation. Not that I was ever really recovered, but I got pretty sick at the end and didn’t do much at all. I was glad I got to meet up with those poeple I could though, and I did get to do my after-Christmas ornament shopping (all of which miraculously made it home).

You may have noticed this post isn’t too interesting–especially for being the first post in like nearly a month. Well, here’s the thing: I am tired. On the way home, I got bumped (voluntarily) from my flight for $300 and and upgrade to first class. This way I had some extra family time and some money and, of course, first class. Well, the down side was that I literally flew all over the country for 18 hours to get home the next day. It was worth it though. Too bad I had just bought a plane ticket to come home in June for $300 and could have used the voucher for that, but now I’ll just have to come home another time. YEY!

For New Year’s, I actually forgot what day it was. We had some people over, and it was fun, but I was so tired I could barely stay awake. We watched them ring in the new year at NYC at 9 and then I was over it. I passed out at 12:09. Then I hella slept in and gave Horatio a bath.

Did you like when Kathy Griffin exclaimed, “You know what, I don’t go to your job and knock the dicks out of your mouth!”
